Salmonid production in Czechoslovakia remains small but is characterized by a great diversity in production methods and presents interesting particularities such as coregon production in ponds or the attempt at suppressing fish meal importations through protein incorporation in granulates. One must also underline the very good technical level of hatchery workers, based on an old tradition in fish breeding reinforced by a good practical and technical training.
