The reproductive cycle in teleost fish
Résumé
Reproduction is a cyclic activity corresponding to an adaptation to the changing environment. Fish live in a variety of biota, leading to great diversity in their reproductive patterns. Reproduction is linked to the environment via the endocrine system; studying hormonal changes may help to determine the most important factor involved in the reproductive cycle. This paper describes some types of reproductive cycles and discusses endocrine change and the experimental alteration of reproduction.
